Effective September 16, 2011, our Lowest Internet Rate Guarantee (LIRG) will be replaced by our new Best Price Guarantee, which is a part of our new Book With Us Advantage program. Best Price Guarantee replaces LIRG as a stronger statement to our customers that we offer the most powerful price guarantee in the industry. With the Best Price Guarantee, customers will find the best price on our branded websites, or their first night is free. The guarantee will drive customers to our brand websites to find the lowest, publicly available rate on the web and increase direct bookings—a real win. We will also be launching an aggressive communications plan to support this new Best Price Guarantee. Beginning with the launch on September 16, 2011, the first night free and lower rate for the rest of the stay portions of the standard will be enforced, but only when a valid claim is found.

It is important to note that the majority of IHG hotels have never had a valid LIRG violation in the past year, so the good news is the majority of our hotels are already in compliance with this standard today.
