Would you be able to live bury for thirty minutes? Well an eleven year old was able to do it! A Michigan boy by the name of Nicholas Nelson was digging in a sand pit with his older brother when one of the tunnels collapsed. His 16 year old brother was quick to call 911 and cry for help as his brother lay underneath the piles of sand. When fire fighters arrived at the scene they found his older brother digging and were quick to join and help with shovels and hands. It wasn’t long before they found Nicholas’s hand, and then the rest of his body was found as well. At first he was not breathing but after a few breathes of air and some breathing aid he was able to breathe, but still unconscious. After being rushed to a nearby hospital he awoke intact to say that a gap by his side filled with air was able to save his life. "I think someone was down there with me to create the gap and make sure I didn't go," Nicholas said.
