The pace of activity has begun to accelerate. Last week we installed the second new water heater and started doing the electric project.
We also had another meeting with the design team who is working on the public area design. It’s exciting but it is keeping me pretty busy. I am attaching another boring photo of a water heater but it is beautiful to my eyes and if you are a guest here, you appreciate the reliable hot water. The other good news we received is that the California Energy Commission has approved our window project for an incentive rebate. It is not a lot of money but it will help. What its great about it, is that it means we can place the order for the dual-pane windows and will be able to start installing them as soon as they are available. We anticipate that could be as early as four weeks from now.

This also means that our project crew will be able to transition to that project immediately and have a good start on the windows when the materials for our room renovation are all here. Even though lead times for the back-lit bathroom mirror are quite long, we will begin with the rooms even if we don’t have delivery of those. At this point it looks like the greater room project will begin end of May or beginning of June. Another exciting thing for me is the addition to the scope of the renovation of some entry door details. We will be adding a new door closer, hinges and a new type of security latch to the door.

We have installed all these details in the sample room and it really cleans up the door look. Most importantly though, the door closer will eliminate the problem we have had here with noisy doors slamming. In addition to the dual pane windows, the door closers will make our rooms quieter.
So here we are waiting for delivery of product to our warehouse, doing some electrical work, discussing public area décor and planning the next project - truly renovation fun!
In keeping with Inn Keeping!
